“Is that Eric Garner worked
for some time for the Parks and Rec.
Horticultural Department, which means,
perhaps, that with his very large hands,
perhaps, in all likelihood,
he put gently into the earth
some plants which, most likely,
some of them, in all likelihood,
continue to grow, continue
to do what such plants do, like house
and feed small and necessary creatures,
like being pleasant to touch and smell,
like converting sunlight
into food, like making it easier
for us to breathe."
― Ross Gay, American poet and professor (A Small Needful Fact)
Hiya!
Greetings from Week Eight! How have you been? Are you finding enough time to rest these days, or is work blurring the days together? Take a second to breathe in the moment, do something (even the smallest thing!) for yourself, and let's do our best this week!
For those who could make it to our Mentorship Program Social last week, it was so much fun! Thanks for stopping by and playing some Scattergories (as moderated by our wonderful Secretary, Anika!). We hope to hold more social events and game nights in the coming months (for both the Mentorship folks and our general attendees) - let us know what you might be interested in doing...🤔
THIS WEEK we will be hosting our third general meeting of the uarter! Meet us on Wednesday, February 24th from 11:10-12pm for Meeting 3: Black-Led Research in COMS.
