2/29: This event has concluded

Thank you to everyone that participated in this year's drive! We collected over 300 books for three local schools and nearly a dozen video recordings. Lambda Pi Eta couldn't have done this without the help of the Cal Poly COMS community and local San Luis Obispo supporters!

If you would still like to submit VIDEO RECORDINGS (not book donations!), please submit your recording (following the procedures below) lphpresident@gmail.com. Contact lphpresident@gmail.com for more details.

Winter Book Drive

For their yearly philanthropic service activity, Lambda Pi Eta is running a month-long Book Drive campaign with local schools in San Luis Obispo County. Learn all the ways you can give the gift of reading this February!

LPH is excited to be partnered with Cambria Grammar School (Cambria), Almond Acres Charter Academy (San Miguel), and Mary Buren Elementary School (Guadalupe) to bring books and reading recordings to young students on the Central Coast. See all the ways you can participate below!

How to Record

3.png
2.png

You can either be in the shot while reading or record your voice over a video of the book

  • Suggestion: Record in a location that is related to the book you are reading

    • For example, if you are reading a book about farm animals, record yourself at a farm or in an outdoor area.

    • If you can’t find a setting that relates to your book, just simply being somewhere else that’s visually intriguing is great!

  • Tips on recording

    • Make sure you’re primarily focusing on the book itself (It should be in view in the video)

    • Kids want to see the pictures!

      • If you are in the shot, make sure to have a close up on the page before you turn it

    • Try to record in a quiet, well-lit area
