[W'21] Meeting 8: Crafting and Cocoa - January 13, 2021

Happy New Year! Hope you are all having a great start to your Winter Quarter!

For our first meeting back, we held a casual social meeting. We caught up on our favorite warm drinks—coffee or tea?; shared stories behind our favorite mugs like travelling or our pets; and our chatted about wishes and intentions for this upcoming year.

Catch up on what's upcoming for COMS Club!:

Important note: Our meetings this quarter are BI-WEEKLY. Additionally, there will be no other club meetings this month as we are hosting the Annual Communication Studies Career Symposium from January 27th to 28th.

The COMS Career Symposium features industry professionals and recent Cal Poly alumni to speak to students at this FREE two day event. Learn more about the different career paths for Communication Studies students!

This is an open event so feel free to spread the word & share the event with your friends and peers, professors, and other community members!

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, February 10th from 11am-12pm! For Meeting 2: Town Hall - Climate Change, we will be inviting Amanda Smith to share her student experience with climate justice. We will be posting more details as we get closer to the date. Check our meeting details for more details on our bi-weekly schedule this quarter as well as a link to our Google Calendar to never miss a meeting!

As a reminder, we will continuing our COMS Fishbowls this quarter (we've changed the name to Virtual Student Study Hall). Join COMS Club Executive Board members every Friday from 1-2pm to do homework with a buddy, have some company in the background as you work, or stop by to say hi.

As always, take care and we hope to see you at our next event!

All the information shared in the meeting can be found on our website or detailed below in the attached slides:
