About the Program

COMS Fishbowl is a casual "student office hour"! Bring your COMS questions and study guides, or just come by to say hi. Feel free to bring homework and keep us in the background, or connect with other COMS students about their classwork!

Fishbowls will be facilitated by at least one member of the COMS Club board per meeting. COMS Fishbowl is hosted by the Cal Poly COMS Club, but takes place outside of official club meetings; You do not need to be a COMS student or a member of the Cal Poly COMS Club to participate!

The fishbowl will be held every Friday from 2-3pm PT over Zoom.

What is a fishbowl?

At the Robert E. Kennedy Library on campus, large student study rooms are called "fishbowls" as the walls are made of glass!

While we can't meet at the library due to COVID-19 restrictions, our COMS Fishbowls intend to serve as a replacement for the traditional drop-in study spaces that are typical for students on campus.
