[S'21] Newsletter 26: Week Five!

“Look, we are not unspectacular things.

We’ve come this far, survived this much. What

would happen if we decided to survive more? To love harder?”

― Ada Limón, American poet (Excerpt from Dead Stars)

Hi, IT'S WEEK FIVE! Halfway there, y'all! Hoping things are well. So much can change in a week, but you're making it through round and round again! Good luck to everyone on midterms this week! 🌞

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to our general meeting this past week for Coloring In Mindfulness. Our group discussed on the recent verdict of Derek Chauvin's trial and held a moment of silence in reflection. We then played a simple drawing activity where we each answered some prompts with a speed drawing (or Pinterest image in Michelle's case!) and shared them with the group!

Feel free to sit on our prompts or decompress with some drawing to our prompts: What does your dream home look like? Where do you want to vacation/go after COVID? What does a utopia look like?

The board has decided to extend the application period just a little longer! This is a fantastic resume-builder and a fun way to get involved with the COMS department. The positions are super flexible - so if you're interested fill out a form! Feel free to send any questions along to our email at calpolyslocomsclub@gmail.com. Learn more about open positions and the application process on our website!!

Our next general meeting will be Wednesday, May 5th at 11:10! Join us for Meeting 3: A Reflection on and Celebration of Cinco de Mayo! Join COMS Club to learn more about the holiday and history of Cinco de Mayo. Follow us on Instagram to get updated on the latest news about COMS Club!
